Murrysville Medic One
Murrysville Medic One was formed by the merger of Franklin
Rescue 4 and Franklin Rescue 5, to provide the primary emergency
medical services to the residents and visitors of the Municipality
of Murrysville and the Borough of Export. Murrysville Medic One has a combined service area of 45.3 square miles. Our service areas
include some major Westmoreland County roadways (Route 380,
286, 66 , and Golden Mile Highway), working farms, Industrial
sites, nursing facilities, and family dwellings. Currently we are
experiencing a commercial and population growth with new
housing developments popping up throughout the municipality.
We also serve 12 parks located throughout the municipality,
which includes picnic areas, ball fields, nature trails, and play
areas. We also serve Franklin Regional School District
(2-Elementary Schools, Middle School and Senior High School).
Murrysville Medic One provides medical support to 4 volunteer fire
departments located throughout our service area.
Currently, Murrysville Medic One operates a fleet of 11 vehicles and an ATV
John Deer Gator, which is used for extricating patients from
rough-terrain and special event stand bys, such as; 84 Gold Classic, Mario Lemieux Celebrity Golf Tournament, Pittsburgh Senior
Citizen Olympics, Pittsburgh Raceway Park, Bushy Run
Battlefield Reenactment, and the Murrysville Classic
International Cycle Race to name a few.
In 2007, Murrysville Medic 1 completed a over 10,300 runs for the year. It
is estimated that over 11,000 runs will be completed in 2008.
